Workshops
The Buffalo City Ballet presents various workshops throughout the year to inspire and educate students of the art of classical ballet. During the workshops, students will be exposed to the basic tenants of ballet, and be encouraged to develop their dance potential. The students develop a basic foundation of classical ballet by first becoming accustomed to the ballet music. They will then be taught various steps and positions. In learning these steps and positions, they will begin to grasp a basic understanding of the physicality and mental discipline involved in the art of ballet.
Fee: single N/A back to back workshops $500.00 Single workshop $250.00 Grade 2-6 Limit 300 students per performance.
Tuition and Fees

Age 3 - 5 : Tiny Tots Pre-Movement $10.00 per class $40.00 per month
Age 6 - 18 years:
Beginners Ballet Level I two classes per week $70.00 per month paid in full before October 15th receive 20% off $140.00 per year your payment = $560.00 (Tuition based on 10 Months @ $70.00 = $700.00)
Beginners Ballet Level II & III three classes per week $70.00 per month paid in full before October 15th receive 20% off $140.00 per year your payment = $560.00 (Tuition based on 10 Months @ $70.00 = $700.00)
Beginners Ballet Level IIIA IV three classes per week $70.00 per month paid in full before October 15th receive 20% off $140.00 per year year your payment = $560.00 (Tuition based on 10 Months @ $70.00 = $700.00)
Intermediate /Advance Three or more classes per week @ $75.00 per month paid in full before October 15th receive 20% off 150.00 per year your payment = $600.00 (Tuition based on 10 Months @ $75.00 = $750.00 yearly)
All Tuition is based on 10 months

*Tech fee helps cover theater cost during productions, costume maintenance, cleaning of dressing rooms.
How Do I Register?
Registration for Buffalo City is a ongoing basis. You can register at any given time for classes. We can be reached at the BCB between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. For a brochure a or a registration form simply go to the (faq) part of this site and click on the link for an application.
BCB Performance School Dress Codes
Tiny Tots - Pink Leotard, Pink Tights, Pink Slippers, pink ballet skirt, hair up in bun.
Beginners Ballet I - Light Blue Leotard, Pink Tights, Pink Slippers, Light Blue Skirt, hair up in bun.
Beginners Ballet II - Dark Blue Leotards, Pink Tights, Pink Slippers, blue skirt, hair up in bun.
Beginners Ballet III - Burgundy Leotards, Pink Tights, Pink Ballet Slipper, burgundy skirt, hair up in bun.
Intermediate Ballet I - Light Green Leotards, Pink Tights, Pink Ballet Slippers, light green skirt, hair up in bun.
Advanced Ballet - Black Leotards, Pink Tights, Pink Slippers, black skirt, hair up in bun.
Boys Ballet - White T-Shirt, Black Tights, White Sock, White Ballet Slippers
Scholarship Applications for 2011 -2012
The Buffalo City Ballet, through the generous support of several organizations & Foundations is please to provide 10 students with full or partial scholarships. The number of scholarships allocated each year is largely dependent on the amount of support received through sponsorships. Scholarships are given based on financial need, ability, work ethic and ethnic background. We begin to give scholarships as the amount of funding becomes clear. In some cases, scholarships will be awarded or withdrawn during the year at BCB discretion. Situation may arise where for example, a family's financial situation has changed, where a current scholarship recipient has not fulfilled his or her family obligation thus forfeiting the scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on a first come first serve basis.
Requirements:
All scholarship recipients will be required to maintain good attendance, display a positive attitude and good work ethic, and adhere to the rules and code of conduct for all students. Merit-based recipients are required to be available for BCB productions. Scholarships will be provide to individuals that has at least 3 years of dance training and perusing a career in dance.
Application
To be considered for scholarship applicants must provide proof of family income. If mother and father are separated both income statement is required. Acceptable documentation includes: W2 form, any public assistance documentation, on your AGI- Adjusted Gross Income as indicated on the form 1040.
The Nutcracker and other Programs
Children's Enrolled in the Training Program automatically is cast for roles in Buffalo City Ballet Annual production of the Nutcracker and spring programs. Roles will be based on class consistence.
